A thorough research enabled to implement new revolutionary ideas on the basis of 4 handheld platforms: Palm OS, Pocket PC, Symbian OS, RIM OS. The results of our research discovered new principles of security for different PDA OS which differ from the standard ones. Working with OS on deep level and using of OS undocumented performance capabilities made it possible to develop powerful and flexible security tool. PDA Secure Suit enables users to gain full control over the access to the data stored on handheld devices.

Security Tools:

1.Access rights differentiation (for corporation employee and for the administrator):

• password change control,
• password complexity control (upper/lower register, digits, special symbols),
• password restoration,
• system lockup after several (n) incorrect passwords insert attempts. (device rebooting, temporary lockup, lockup with the subsequent administrator?s interference, wiping all critical data).

2.All critical data is wiped:

• provided a special password is inserted (Administrator can remind/make an employee specify it),
• automatically provided computer-device synchronization did not take place for several (n) days

3.Encrypting (on-the-fly) files (on mask), databases (mail, contacts, tasks, calendar) and data on additional Flash-card. There is a list of permitted applications which provide automatic data decryption after the data activation. The following algorithms are used for encryption: AES, TDES, TwoFish, BlowFish, XOR, RC4 with different key length.
4.Passwords for the application on start:

• password change control,
• password complexity control (upper/lower register, digits, special symbols).

SUMO game created by QArea is an extremely realistic sumo tournament game intended for mobile phone users. It supports a wide range of devices among the Symbian, Brew and J2ME handsets. QArea SUMO allows choosing whether you wish to play in a single player or a multiplayer mode via Bluetooth. Apart to standard multiplayer functionality QArea SUMO provides for ability to connect between handsets under different platforms, e.g. Brew-to-Symbian, J2ME-to-Brew etc. This was made possible due to the usage of unified protocol for multiplayer games.

A special library for instant messaging during the multiplayer mode game was also developed.

Game Concept

Before the tournament starts user is offered to choose among the four characters. Each character has its own predefined properties like weight, speed, trajectory, inertia etc. which are specified in the XML settings-file. The file also specifies such parameters as general game settings, the ring size, round time limit etc. Aim of the game is to bounce the opponent out, beyond the fighting ring. One can move forward, to the left and to the right. Needless to move backwards – the opponent will bounce you backwards.

Generally speaking, during the game two athletes are fighting against each other demonstrating the basic laws of mechanics, using girth and leverage to maneuver the opponent out of a small circular ring or throw the opponent to the ground. Comprehensive percussion physics is, designed by QArea team, is implemented invoking an own-developed engine providing for an easy portability.

There are 3 fighting games. You have to win all the three ones to lead to the ‘victorious' end. Each fighting game consists of two rounds. If the previous two rounds are tie, the third, compulsory one is given to define the winner.

Taptu.com (www.taptu.com) search engine is an innovative system built on the basis of Web 2.0 and mobile technologies. It can be used on both desktops and handhelds. It takes into account differences of diverse handhelds and adapts the content of the pages displayed to sizes and other peculiarities of mobile devices (cell phones, BlackBerry, smartphones, etc.).

Positioning system based on the Wi-Fi access points coverage

Challenge: The system of location definition by means of scanning available Wi-Fi access points. Solution: The developed application consists of two parts:
- The part of the system is a driver emulating the work of GPS receiver.
- Another part of the system is responsible for scanning, defining of coordinates and recording of access points into the server database. Result: Cross platform application that leverages wardriving data to create a simulated GPS device for other applications to utilize via a virtual COM port.
